Developer With DevOps Skills

Biarri Optimisation is an innovative Commercial Mathematics company that delivers decision support and optimisation-powered web applications that help businesses become more efficient.
We are looking for a Brisbane based Developer with strong DevOps skills to help manage and improve our development practices, infrastructure and systems.
In this role you will:
  • Help define the strategic direction of how our apps are developed and deployed
  • Multiply knowledge and educate teams about good development and DevOps practices
  • Work with project teams to build deployable and scalable applications
  • Work with clients to design and implement integration architectures
  • Support and improve the company’s agile processes, esp. our CI process and the developer experience
  • Triage and help fix operational issues (this may include time on-call for some of our web applications)

The skills you have are:
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Python (esp. web application frameworks and task managers e.g. Celery) and databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of AWS
  • Strong knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines
  • Background in Linux / Ubuntu
  • Good documentation skills
Your experience is:
  • A degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 2+ years DevOps-style roles or Python/AWS roles with some DevOps aspects
  • Experience building commercial software solutions
  • Understanding of complex web applications and the full SDLC
You will also possess:
  • Diligence and an eye for detail
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Great communication skills and initiative
  • Great team-working skills
