About Biarri
2009
Biarri founded with offices in Brisbane and Melbourne
After working in professional services and multinational corporations, Joe Forbes and Ash Nelson founded Biarri Optimisation to make Commercial Mathematics more accessible to businesses.
2010
Biarri Workbench released
The first version of Biarri’s Workbench platform is released, with customers in the Australian Supply Chain and Retail industries the first to onboard.
2012
First customers in North America
Biarri goes global, with Energy and Rail customers in the United States.
2012
Biarri Networks founded
After incubation within Biarri Optimisation, Biarri Networks is spun out to provide Fibre Optic Network Design software and services to telecommunication companies globally. Biarri Networks is later acquired by Dura-Line, part of the Orbia group of companies in 2022.
2014
First customers in Europe
Biarri Optimisation expands into Europe with customers in Aviation and Shipping. A joint venture is formed with Clive Data Services, which is later acquired by Xeneta.
2015
Biarri Rail founded
Biarri Optimisation’s offering in the Rail sector is separated into Biarri Rail, with a focus on solving train and crew scheduling problems in North America and Australia. Biarri Rail is later acquired by Navis in 2019.
2018
Data Science and Machine Learning capability established
Biarri’s mathematical optimisation capability is extended with the establishment of a team focused on data science problems, which includes forecasting, anomaly detection and pricing.
2020
Partnership formalised with Amazon
Biarri becomes a member of the Amazon Partner Network.
2022
Dave Scerri appointed as CEO
With the founders departing from operational roles within the business, Dave Scerri is appointed as CEO leading Biarri’s senior leadership function.
