2009
Biarri founded with offices in Brisbane and Melbourne
After working in professional services and multinational corporates, Joe Forbes and Ash Nelson founded Biarri Optimisation to make Commercial Mathematics accessible to business.
2010
Biarri Workbench released
First version of Biarri’s platform is released with Australian customers in supply chain and retail the first onboard
2012
First customers in North America
Biarri goes global with initial energy and rail customers in the United States
2012
Biarri Networks founded
After incubation within Biarri Optimisation, Biarri Networks is spun out to focus on providing Fibre Optic Network Design to telecommunication companies globally. Biarri Networks is later acquired by Dura-Line, part of the Orbia group of companies in 2022
2014
First customers in Europe
Biarri Optimisation expands into Europe with customers in aviation and maritime. Joint Venture formed with Clive Data Services which is later acquired by Xeneta
2015
Biarri Rail founded
Biarri Optimisation’s Rail capability is separated into Biarri Rail, with a focus on solving train and crew scheduling problems in North America and Australia. Biarri Rail is later acquired by Navis in 2019.
2018
Data Science and Machine Learning capability established
Existing optimisation capability is extended with the establishment of a team focused on solving data science problems including forecasting, anomaly detection and pricing.
2020
Partnerships formalised with Amazon and Gurobi Optimisation
Biarri is recognised as an Premier Service Partner with leading commercial solver Gurobi Optimisation, and becomes a member of the Amazon Partner Network
2022
Dave Scerri appointed as CEO
With the departure of the founders from operational roles within the business, Dave is appointed CEO along with the current leadership team
